Notcast Ep 201 : Nine Inch Nails debut LP "Pretty Hate Machine" was released in the US in 1989, and in the UK in 1991 - and it was literally, a life changing album that was a friend when I was very short of friends in a difficult world at a challenging time in my life. This album *changed* me. I talk about the album, the production, Trent Reznor's status as a furious, heartbroken version of Prince, the singles "Down In It", "Head Like A Hole", "Sin", remixes, Queen samples, the albums lyrical world view of power, control, money, and abuse, and one of the best gigs I ever, ever saw. 18 May 2022.
