Notcast 244 and it's time to talk about (welp) Metallica's inessential covers album "Garage Inc.", and the placeholder live release "S&M", as the band ran out of inspiration long before they ran out of tour dates and ticket sales. They also released the absolutely rubbish "I Disappear", argued with Napster - and each other - and toured a bit before Jason inevitably left rather than forever be relegated to the sidelines. This is an interesting period that saw me both lose interest completely in the band and come back to the fold. I also talk about how cover version albums are often terrible ideas, poorly executed and yes... "Garage Inc." is pretty bad. 23 October 2022.
