All These Things I've Done

It's been a quiet and productive weekend. We've watched Glastonbury coverage for 10 hours continuously on BBC2,3,and 4. Barring an hour of "Doctor Who". It's all gone on the hard drive, and no doubt will be stuck on DVD and sent to Nottingham at some point. God bless the BBC - the quality of television is light years beyond any other channel I've seen so far in my life.

In the meantime, the house has been significantly ovehauled today. The electrics and wiring have been refused. The back room has been completely changed. thanks to rewiring fuses, 4 more power points have come back online in the living room. The garden lights have finally been sorted out so we now have motion-activated lighting and bulbs leading up the garden. The freezer has been moved from halfway down a corridor into the back room. A lot of things have been thrown out. It feels more like a home now, as opposed to an imperfect house. The shoe rack has finally come out and all the shoes have been ferried from their nooks and crannies under tables and behind curtains. A book shelf has been moved. A Japanese Maple Tree has been planted in the front garden.

Tired now. Picture above is the view from the balcony of the Royal Festival Hall after last nights show. A great weekend so far.
