Employment.

Risk-Averse is a word. Indentured is a word. Slavery is another word. They all mean the same thing.

Employers like the risk averse. They like slaves. They like people who need the money. People who will put up with any amount of crap because they have to, not because they want to. Employers like people like me : the married, the parents, the mortgaged. It's how they create slaves these days. A monthly payment. Employers pay no more than they think they need to in order to keep you. Employees always look for the maximum they can get. Employers forget that the employees are running a business called Staying Alive. Employers like the Risk Averse : the mortgaged, the indentured. They are less likely to leave. Primarily because they need what the employer has : money. They are more likely to tow the party line, to stick it out because they need the money. "It's slavery, but in disguise".

Money makes slaves of us all.

Comments:
I am not married, nor am I a parent, but I am mortgaged. And right now I fucking hate my employers.

You put it so well Mark. I thought I was one of the few who thought that employers are the new slave-masters.
