It's The End Of The World As We Know It And I Feel Fine
grandreveal

Hard at work on Novel #11.

Today I sat down and wrote out the plot, play by play, scene by scene. Some pretty good ideas came to me, and I unravelled a couple of mysteries. One thing I havent yet been able to sort of is the underlying dramatic tension. Fundamentally, I want to write Fight Club 80 times over, but I can't. It's difficult to explain what's it's fundamentally about without revealing much - after all, it all hangs on the Grand Reveal. In the way that everything that's happened before is suddenly changed by a revelation, this probably won't make that much sense, as such, before a certain point in the narrative.

At 2,000 words an hour when I'm on a roll, I reckon I can use most of most evenings for the next month or so to power on at it. I haven't got much money and novel writing is a cheap leisure option - it is also productive and intellectually engaging. I can surf the intermaweb until it pours out of my eyes like Playdoh hairm, but it doesn't provide the same sense of satisfaction.. or interest... as creating something.

Anyway, I have 10,000 words and a title. Behold, what used to be known as The Crunch (to survivalists) is now, provisionally titled : The Grand Reveal.

Any questions?
