MARK'S NOTCAST Ep 185 : Depeche Mode "Devotional Tour" 1993-1995. 27 February 2022.


Notcast Ep 185 : 1993-1994 saw Depeche Mode's enormous 157 show "Devotional"/"Exotic" Tour which went all over the world - sometimes twice, and broke the band's lineup permanently. I talk through the tour, technical problems, setlists and live arrangements, live broadcasts, one of the worst live albums I've ever heard, a fabulous live VHS, and lots of live B-sides. I get uncharacteristically grumpy about Fletch bailing on the tour, and how his musical contribution to the group is effectively non-existent, as he subbed out his job to someone who'd never played keyboards before - and they picked up everything in a week. 27 February 2022.
